Bea Positive – No Bad News | Looking out for our community

  • Charge phones, power banks, and medical devices
  • Stock essentials: water, food, medications, pet supplies
  • Prepare an emergency kit (flashlight, batteries, blankets)
  • Set thermostats safely and protect exposed pipes
  • Check on elderly neighbors, disabled friends, and those living alone

🚗 DURING THE STORM

  • Stay off roads unless travel is absolutely necessary
  • Drive slowly and increase following distance if you must go out
  • Dress in layers and keep dry to avoid hypothermia
  • Never use grills or generators indoors
  • Keep space heaters away from flammable items

🔌 IF POWER GOES OUT

  • Use flashlights instead of candles when possible
  • Keep refrigerator/freezer doors closed to preserve food
  • If using a generator, operate it outside only
  • Stay warm in one room and use blankets & layers

🧂 AFTER THE STORM

  • Watch for black ice — it’s often invisible
  • Clear sidewalks safely to prevent falls
  • Check on neighbors again
  • Report downed power lines — never touch them

💛 COMMUNITY REMINDER

If you have extra food, salt, blankets, or supplies, consider sharing with someone in need.
