Traditional marriage is the coming together of two people. Over 40 years ago, my husband Tom and I pledged to stick it out “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part.” The better, richer, and healthier days are easy. It is the worse, poorer, and sick days that remind us a successful marriage requires not just two people, but three—God is the glue that holds the marriage together.
