I remember a colleague in ministry approaching me at a church conference after previously attempting to engage me in an unwanted, sexually explicit conversation.

They told me, “Jesus said you have to forgive.”

My response was simple: “He didn’t say I had to speak to you again.”

Those were the last words I ever spoke to him.Forgiveness does not require access.

And a title—pastor, teacher, officer, or otherwise—doesn’t mean someone cannot also be an abuser. Positions of authority do not excuse inappropriate, harmful, or abusive behavior.

Kudos to Nai Andrews, author of “Dairy of a Preachers Kid” (available on Amazon), for having the courage to speak out against her predator pastor father. May we continue to create spaces where people feel safe enough to tell the truth—and where titles never matter more than accountability. #NoBadNews #TellSomebody
